About Ampleforth
Ampleforth (AMPL) is a digital asset protocol designed to function as smart commodity money on the Ethereum blockchain. Its defining feature is an elastic supply mechanism that automatically adjusts the number of tokens in every holder's wallet proportionally, responding to price deviations from a one US dollar target. These supply changes, called rebases, occur once every 24 hours and create counter-cyclical trading pressure. Because AMPL supply expands and contracts rather than its price alone moving, it behaves differently from Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, making it a distinct building block for decentralized finance applications.
