Basic Attention Token (BAT) is an Ethereum-based utility token powering a decentralized digital advertising ecosystem. It was created by Brendan Eich, inventor of JavaScript and co-founder of Mozilla. BAT addresses widespread problems in digital advertising including fraud, privacy violations, and lack of transparency by enabling advertisers to pay publishers directly based on user attention.
