Cartesi (CTSI) is a blockchain platform that enables developers to build application-specific rollups using standard Linux environments and conventional programming tools. Unlike EVM-based solutions, Cartesi embeds a RISC-V virtual machine called the Cartesi Machine, allowing smart contracts and decentralized applications to leverage decades of mature software libraries and operating system infrastructure. Its Optimistic Rollups framework supports deployment as L2, L3, or sovereign rollups, backed by the DAVE fraud-proof system. CTSI powers governance, validator staking, and a decentralized Validator Marketplace connecting applications with node operators across the Ethereum ecosystem.
