"Cosmos (ATOM) is a decentralized network of independent, parallel blockchains designed to solve the long-standing problem of blockchain interoperability. Using the Tendermint Byzantine fault-tolerant consensus mechanism and the Inter-Blockchain Communication protocol, Cosmos enables separate chains to exchange tokens and data without intermediaries. Often described as the ""internet of blockchains,"" the network connects sovereign blockchains through a central hub-and-zone architecture.
