Dash (DASH) is a digital currency launched in 2014, designed to function as fast, low-cost, peer-to-peer electronic cash. Originally forked from Bitcoin, Dash introduced several innovations including InstantSend, which confirms transactions in seconds, and PrivateSend, an optional coin-mixing feature for enhanced transaction privacy. Dash operates a two-tier network, combining miners with a decentralized layer of masternodes that help govern the network and enable advanced features. Dash also uses a self-funding treasury model, allocating a portion of block rewards to support ongoing development and community-driven proposals.
