About Euler

Euler (EUL) is a permissionless lending and borrowing protocol built on Ethereum. Unlike first-generation DeFi lending platforms such as Compound and Aave, which rely on permissioned asset listings, Euler allows users to lend and borrow a much wider range of ERC20 tokens, including illiquid and volatile assets. It introduces novel risk management tools, including reactive interest rates and asset tiering, to handle this expanded scope safely. Euler operates within the broader DeFi ecosystem and is governed by EUL token holders through a decentralized governance system launched in 2021.
