About Kaspa

Kaspa (KAS) is a proof-of-work cryptocurrency launched in November 2021 with a fair launch, no pre-mine, no pre-sale, and full community governance. It uses the GHOSTDAG protocol, a BlockDAG consensus mechanism that allows multiple blocks to be created simultaneously without discarding parallel blocks as orphans. This enables Kaspa to achieve block speeds faster than any competing proof-of-work or proof-of-stake network while maintaining Bitcoin-level security thresholds. The ecosystem supports block data pruning, SPV proofs, and is building toward layer-two solutions through based-rollups, positioning Kaspa as a high-throughput global sequencing layer.
