Shiba Inu (SHIB) is a meme-inspired cryptocurrency launched in 2020 on the Ethereum blockchain. Originally created as a playful rival to Dogecoin, it gained widespread attention after Vitalik Buterin donated a significant portion of his SHIB holdings to COVID-19 relief efforts in India. Over time, Shiba Inu evolved beyond a simple meme token into a broader decentralized ecosystem. This includes ShibaSwap, a native decentralized exchange, along with two companion tokens, LEASH and BONE, the latter serving as a governance token for the community-driven Doggy DAO.
