About Starknet

Starknet (STRK) is a permissionless decentralized Layer 2 network built on Ethereum, designed to scale the blockchain using cryptographic validity proofs known as STARKs. Unlike optimistic rollup solutions, Starknet uses zero-knowledge proof technology to verify transactions off-chain while inheriting Ethereum's security guarantees. The STRK token serves three core functions within the ecosystem: governance participation, payment of transaction fees, and involvement in the network's consensus mechanism.
