About Substratum

Substratum (SUB) is a decentralized web infrastructure project built on the Ethereum blockchain. It was designed to allow users to share their unused computing resources to host and serve web content, effectively creating a censorship-resistant version of the internet. Participants could earn SUB tokens by contributing bandwidth and storage to the network. The project aimed to challenge traditional web hosting models by distributing control away from centralized servers and corporations, enabling open access to online content regardless of geographic or political restrictions. Substratum gained attention during the 2017 to 2018 crypto boom before development activity significantly declined.
