About Syscoin
Syscoin (SYS) is a blockchain network launched in 2014 as a Bitcoin fork, combining Bitcoin's proof-of-work security with Ethereum-compatible smart contract functionality. What sets Syscoin apart is its modular, full-stack architecture featuring a UTXO layer, a Network Enhanced Virtual Machine layer, and Rollux, an EVM Layer 2 rollup secured by Bitcoin through merged mining. Rollux is built on OP Stack and incorporates Proof-of-Data Availability for enhanced scalability. The ecosystem targets decentralized applications across DeFi, Metaverse, IoT, and Smart Cities, positioning Syscoin as a bridge between Bitcoin's security model and Ethereum's programmability.
