About Terra Classic

Terra Classic (LUNC) is the original native token of the Terra blockchain, which operated as a decentralized financial payment network before its collapse in May 2022. Following the catastrophic de-pegging of the UST stablecoin, the original chain was rebranded as Terra Classic while a new Terra chain launched. LUNC served three core functions on the original network: staking to validate transactions, stabilizing Terra stablecoins, and rewarding blockchain validators. Today it remains active within a community-driven ecosystem, with ongoing burn mechanisms and governance efforts aimed at restoring long-term utility to the legacy chain.
