Verge (XVG) is a privacy-focused cryptocurrency launched in 2014, originally known as DogecoinDark. It is designed to enable anonymous, untraceable transactions by integrating TOR and I2P networks to obfuscate user IP addresses. The Wraith Protocol upgrade allows users to switch between private and public ledgers on the same blockchain. Verge supports five proof-of-work mining algorithms and processes transactions in approximately five seconds. As a fully open-source, community-driven project with no ICO or premine, Verge competes in the privacy coin space alongside projects like Monero.
