About Hermez Network

Hermez Network (HEZ) is a decentralized zk-rollup protocol built on top of Ethereum, designed to scale payments and token transfers efficiently. It uses zero-knowledge proof technology to batch thousands of transactions off-chain before submitting a single compressed proof to the Ethereum mainnet, significantly reducing fees and increasing throughput. Hermez operates as a public good, with a unique proof-of-donation model that directs a portion of fees to the Ethereum ecosystem. It later merged with Polygon to become Polygon Hermez, contributing its scaling technology to the broader Polygon infrastructure.
