Lido Staked ETH (stETH) is a liquid staking token representing Ethereum deposited through the Lido protocol. When users stake ETH via Lido, they receive stETH in return, maintaining liquidity while earning Ethereum proof-of-stake rewards. Token balances update daily to reflect accumulated staking yields, keeping stETH pegged 1:1 with staked ETH. Unlike traditional staking, stETH can be freely used across decentralized finance applications, including lending, trading, and yield strategies. Launched in 2020, it has become one of the largest liquid staking solutions within the Ethereum ecosystem, removing the usual lockup constraints associated with native ETH staking.
