Lido wstETH (WSTETH) is a wrapped version of stETH, the liquid staking token issued by the Lido protocol on Ethereum. Unlike stETH, which rebases daily to reflect staking rewards, wstETH maintains a stable token balance while its value appreciates over time, making it more compatible with DeFi protocols. It represents a proportional share of staked ETH plus accumulated rewards, redeemable by unwrapping back to stETH. This design allows users to hold staking yield in a predictable ERC-20 format, enabling seamless integration with lending platforms, decentralized exchanges, and other on-chain applications within the broader Ethereum ecosystem.
