Sky (SKY) is the governance token for Sky Protocol, a decentralized finance platform launched in 2024 as a rebrand and upgrade of the original Maker Protocol. What sets it apart is its fully community-driven structure, with no CEO or central authority. SKY holders vote on protocol changes and can stake tokens in the Staking Engine to earn rewards and borrow the USDS stablecoin. Built on Ethereum, the protocol centers on USDS, a decentralized dollar-pegged stablecoin, and uses SkyLink to connect users across multiple blockchains for faster, lower-cost transactions.
